ooooo bad. I do hope they find it for you. I was watching that one, but fortunately (or unfortunately) I did not want to spend any money so I did not bid on it. It sure looked like a fine Rocket.
If you're not dead set against eBay, you can find Rockets easily there and sometimes they're affordable. At the moment, search for 151037153021 and 271193166621 for examples.
If you absolutely HAD to get a typewriter on ebay, the Rocket/Baby or Aristocrat would be the ones to go with. They are fairly light, snug fitting in their cases and easily protected. Just make sure the seller is happy to go the extra mile on locking the carriage and packing the machine and you should be OK.
Bummer, man! I hope they find it, rockets are fun and versatile, and very compact (:
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear, hope you find another one soon!
ReplyDeleteWe're on the same wavelength, my new post is also about Typewriter in the 21st Century.

ReplyDeleteThat sucks. We're you looking for that colour specifically? Or just the wing shaped baby/rocket?
ReplyDeleteMostly the wings, really.
DeleteThanks for the sympathy everyone.

ReplyDeletehmm.. I just hear too many horror stories but i may try them. I get mostly watches on ebay, they don't smash so easily.
