With typewriters it's a curiosity about what was created on them.notagainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02915679111849352765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-881842661768630727.post-41438324379539833182011-06-22T15:08:22.376-07:002011-06-22T15:08:22.376-07:00Hi, this is Rich, half of the team for the recentl...Hi, this is Rich, half of the team for the recently-created Two Typewriters blog that you commented on. I just wanted to say I enjoyed this entry. I am a record collector and, though these marks detract from a record's "mint minus" condition, I I like owning records that previous owners have marked up somehow.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-881842661768630727.post-55097230378502623352011-06-15T17:18:59.862-07:002011-06-15T17:18:59.862-07:00I didn't know you had so many typewriters! Most of mine come without anybody's name on them, though once one had an order form for ribbons taped on it....Philosophothinker, ThDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01174368214264523703noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-881842661768630727.post-12410682963472464232011-06-15T15:37:24.577-07:002011-06-15T15:37:24.577-07:00I love those labels and stuff. I keep them on the majority of my machines. <br />I found a Hermes Baby at the thrift store - the Baby that came in a leather-like little carrying case - and the previous owner had painstakingly scratched her name - In Script! - in the metal of the case's clasp, in the ribbon cover, and on the underside of the machine. Also on the underside: her SSN. That's the only other time I've seen that until I came across your picture. <br /><br />That's truly a remnant from another, more trusting time.Duffy Moonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10105074089216551597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-881842661768630727.post-88690550807562906802011-06-15T07:11:16.666-07:002011-06-15T07:11:16.666-07:00Good topic. These souvenirs may be "unsightly" but they are part of what give the machines substance and character.Richard Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16232053429935587826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-881842661768630727.post-65156623295378934382011-06-15T05:21:11.197-07:002011-06-15T05:21:11.197-07:00http://manualentry.blogspot.com/2011/03/remington-...http://manualentry.blogspot.com/2011/03/remington-noiseless.html<br />this is the one with a 16-pitch gothic typeface.notagainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02915679111849352765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-881842661768630727.post-28126199081371761792011-06-15T03:15:09.500-07:002011-06-15T03:15:09.500-07:00Wow, I didn't know you had a Remington Noisele...Wow, I didn't know you had a Remington Noiseless Standard from the 1950's... Otherwise, something in me wants to claim complete ownership so off with those labels haha!Ton S. https://www.blogger.com/profile/10691201724230891974noreply@blogger.com
