I like the paper cover: ingenious solution to a nagging problem, although I'd argue that the insides are pretty enough (and fascinating enough!) to just go au naturel and hang out in the breeze, so to speak.
Maybe you need to ally yourself with a clever woodworker and really put a custom top on this machine...
