Travel-Riter

Ironically I get a "travel-riter" after finding out everyone has an attitude against travel-riting.

that serial number doesn't really match up on the TW-DB.  any help from the typosphere?

  1. Thanks for sharing your newest find. I'm curious, how many machines do you have in your collection? You must have quite a number.

I also wanted to ask you if you use WD-40 to unstuck keys.

  2. Ha ha that's a loaded question. I have a couple dozen and am out of shelf space. I'm thinking of ways to give some away, so if you're in the pacific northwest...
No the wisdom I've learned from the serious restorers/users is not to use wd-40 as it leaves gummy residue over time. I use liquid wrench to clean and 3 in 1 oil to lubricate stuck typebars. The oil alone worked on this one.

  3. Thanks for indulging my curiosity. I though you would say a couple of hundred!

I'm glad I asked you about WD-40. I was just planning to use it.

    Darn, I'm in Chicago.

By the way, care to i.d. a couple of typewriters I found in a couple of movies? Just posted.

    Cheers!
