I always feel a little strange expressing sympathies to someone that I have met only virtually, and usually by virtue of posts after-the-fact (like this one)... but the Typosphere has made us all something a little closer than hobbyists, something a little farther apart than family.
I'm not really sure where this is going, other than to express my sympathies for you and your family: I know this loss was not entirely unexpected, but that doesn't lessen the sorrow.
It is the least we can do, being so far away! I hope things have calmed down for you and you were able to enjoy your type-in on Saturday. It was nice seeing you virtually for a few minutes last week!
