Nice comparison. I was just thinking of such a comparison the other day, because Robert featured the "Speedline" Corona design and I found a streamlined Remington 5.
Of course, I think you really bring the sexy only with the glossy-paint versions of these machines.
To my eye, the Remington is a little bolder and more fun in its shapes; the Corona is more sophisticated-looking -- and far more sophisticated-typing.
The glossy versions are amazing. But I think the crinkle and line ones are more suave than sexy. They feel more... sophisticated. Kinda the difference between Marlyn Monroe, and Audrey Hepburn.

DeleteIt really struck me how similar in size and styling they were. I suppose I could try buffing them shiny but somehow I don't think it would work.
ReplyDeleteThey are similiar, indeed. I like how you see the typebasket on the Remie, and I love the glossy racing stripes. I'd take any of the two.
ReplyDeletenever thought to compare these two but the similarities are striking
ReplyDeletei have the speedline and the remington 5, both glossy and i think i might take a look at both side by side soon
