outing without my own typewriter

Today we went up to Seattle (because we know where we can park free along a bike trail) and had a nice ride.

At the locks we saw a few birds.

Then across the Fremont bridge, we found the Saturday market, and sure enough there was a typewriter poet operating.  I didn't get a chance to chat, he had a line of customers.

And to cap things off, here is my entry in the stapler fixation meme.

It's called a Presto Deluxe from the 50's I think. It takes an odd-size refill, of which it has only a few left.  I have seen them on ebay, however, should I become desperate.  Silly me - had I but known I could have photographed the flotilla of staplers we had at work after our office remodel.  We each had our own, plus there were five strays, of varying sizes.  Most are gone now, borrowed by visitors I think.  It was funny while it lasted.

I got an email that I had a balance on Zazzle.com from sales of a stamp I made up for typewriter month in 2011.

Despite the thousands of positive reviews (?!?), my royalties don't even amount to enough to cut a check (or even buy a coffee).

So I'll take this as a reminder that Typewriter month is fast approaching and perhaps even make a new one.

books!

I found a box of my books downstairs.  I'm already reading "The Man With the Golden Gun" from the Bond collection that I picked up at thrift stores in the 80s. That one had a Goodwill tag on it for nineteen cents.
Next I'll probably open that Shell Scott, they were pretty amusing as I recall. Very over-the-top.

As you can see I have a lot of Fred Hoyle as well.  Hard Sci-fi.
I also found a bunch of Robert Anton Wilson.  I wonder how I'll respond to him on rereading.
