someone was spying on me during NaNoWriMo

Another new blog in the typosphere, but this comic is a little too close for comfort..
This guy in the comic isn't bleeding, and neither was I.  I was barfing, although this year I had a lot of dry heaves, so to speak.

Olympia SM-something

One more thing - I found an Adler electric the other day.  The unusual thing was the huge strap holding it in the case.

interesting typefaces 2 Remington Noiseless

Above is a sample of the type with a glaring typo.  It is really hard to see the output.  The window is tiny and sometimes the ribbon doesn't drop out of the way.  I still like it.
Here is a post with pics of this machine.

Here's a bit of text from it laid across the FP's sample.

interesting typefaces 1

These are the ones with stylistic similarities.  Because of inconsistent inking, I used a carbon paper sheet over a much brighter sheet of paper.  The first image is the carbon, second is the top sheet.
None of these has a one key, so of course I messed up the alignment of shifted numbers.   And I made NUMEROUS typos in the text as well.

bin there left that

followers of g+ will know I left two interesting ones in the bins this week.I was sorely tempted both times but just had to leave them.  One was an 88 cosmetically much cleaner than mine, but the keys were sticky and for some reason some were not making the full trip to the platen.  sigh.

The other was an electric - SCM, mid-sixties, very clean, fired right up.  I only checked it because the typeface looked non-boring.  The small sample I took looks just like my Hermes 3000 techno typeface.  It also used a standard SCM ribbon and the one inside was very good.  I should have taken it just for that.
Has anyone successfully transplanted the basket from an electric to a manual?  It would be nice to have a techno classic 12...

heard today

radio essay on NaNoWriMo

NaNoWriMo wrap-up

Congrats to all the winners!  I didn't quite make it, resolving my story at just over 35,000 words.  It will surely expand to 50+ when I rewrite it.
I learned something about myself.  I didn't plan out my novel with outlines.  I knew roughly what I wanted the story arc to be, but left a lot of things open.  Even while writing, I was reluctant to move the story forward, and I realized that I wanted to enjoy the suspense that I hoped to provide the reader.  I didn't want to spoil MY OWN NOVEL.  I don't know if that's incredibly stupid, or brilliant, or common.  But it came as a surprise to me when I realized it.

NaNaWriMo

I don't expect to "win" NaNoWriMo this year.  I've only just made it to 32,000 and I'm close to the climax.  Even though I expect to finish the story and even edit it, this one feels like work where last year's felt like play.  I would like to hear from writers what you think causes the difference.
Once I finish I'll post about my Portland trip.

greetings

My wife put out a call for typewritten birthday greetings for me.  She got a couple, one of which was typed on the adler in the dining room.  It was a lovely gesture I wanted to share with the typosphere.

still behind here's some borrowed content

I'm happy to have passed 15,000, but chagrined that I should be at 25,000.
So no typecast as I get back to work.  Here's a funny making the rounds.
I really liked this one.  The whole group can be found here

Hey look over there ========================>

new word war widget I populated with typospherians.
I can't seem to get it to work with Richard.  It's either the space or the period.  I even tried the null character.

let me know if I should remove you

whoa - behind already!

Olympia NaNoWriMo typewrite-in

Followers may recall I have long wanted to hold a type-in down in Olympia for the convenience of Little Flower Petals.  National Novel Writing Month provided a good excuse for it as well as much-needed assistance finding the location.  I looked up the Olympia group and found their write-ins, then asked the captain if we could barge in toward the end of it.  She was very enthusiastic so we are welcome and have a place to go.

It's called Sizizis Coffee House, and appears to be pretty easy to find.  I will be there Sunday Nov. 13 at about 11 a.m. I hope any typers and/or writers will join me there.
RSVP in comments or g+ or just show up.

So depending on turnout we will either be a typewriter squad or platoon, right?
