The 2 margin release keys should be marked "left" and "right." One of the many odd things about Olivers is that they have completely different systems for setting the left and right margins.

ReplyDeleteI am Oliver green with envy over your typewriter. I have been so close to getting an oliver a couple of times, but it has never materialized. Maybe typewriter Providence will shine kindly down on me.
ReplyDeleteOf the two keys in the center, the left one is the tab, and the right one is the right margin release. The left margin key is on the far right of the typewriter, just above the top bank of keys.

thanks. I found that and also the strange left margin adjuster that looks like a bent hanger to the right rear. I would not have looked there but for the book found online. It's an amusingly peculiar apparatus for sure.
