You might try to contact Bill Wahl at MTE for your H3000 platen knob springs. I know he has a couple of parts 3k machines in his back room.
maybe also poke Mr. Polt to add a website link for Bremerton Office's listing on his Typewriter Repair Shop Listing Page. Maybe he'll also link this blog entry like he did for one of mine about my first trip to MTE. :D
My Hermes 3000 only has one spring and somehow I got it to work. Took me a while to align everything but I haven't had any problems with it. Good luck!

Congratulations on finding a repair shop. I hoped to get to the closest one to me (Jacksonville), but other things have taken priority.
