Can't post - busy

There were about 20-odd novelists at King's Books in Tacoma yesterday.  only one typewriter, but perhaps a quarter were hand-writing.
In case you don't recognize it, this is the 1947 QDL from the clickthing collection.

  1. The pen is mightier than the sword but is the typewriter mightier than the pen?

  2. Did you get much writing done, NA? Great picture, too! Makes me wanna bust out the QDL myself, but I'm not feeling very inspired right now.

  3. Did people pay much attention to the typewriter? If so, did it bring smiles or frowns?

  4. It didn't seem to be particularly disruptive. There was a very loud heater above me that helped a lot. I think the worst of it was that it shook the table some, but taking it out of the case improved that.

    1. I picked up a sheet of quarter inch closed cell foam to act as a typewriter pad. I was hoping to cut down on vibration and noise, I'll let you know how it goes.

  5. I missed the Nano kickoff I'd intended to go to, so no public typewriting so far. Good on you for taking a stand :D

  6. Nice typewriter. Looks just like my Companion from the same era.
