I briefly submerged myself in the world of comics. I think the appeal of debating whether or not Wolverine's claws would cut through Thor's hammer springs from two sources: 1) It's an opportunity to flout your knowledge of the obscure to members of your tribe. 2) It cements your feeling of acceptance and membership in said tribe. You're right though - it's not exactly productive use of your time.
I don't get comics either, or for that matter "graphic novels". too sparse with storyline, I think. Many of my friends would disagree with me, though, and could tell you exactly why Superman can fly (for instance), and can describe in rich detail the timeline of Spiderman's many personality changes. *shrug*
I suppose I now understand why so many people look mystified at me when I talk about typewriters :D

ReplyDeleteThat makes sense. Thanks
DeleteSounds like you had a wonderful time. One of my favorite instruments is the pipes even though I do not play them.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lucy on the time required for digital diaries vs paper. Paper anyting is also much faster to search too.
I like how she timed them in the experiment.
