That happens when a typecast gets interrupted three times.

stealing the update just to update idea

I sure do like typing on the Lettera 32.  I used the Underwood 21 to fill out a form and it felt heavy.
Here are a few pics from last spring's tulip festival, just because Spring and Fall have similar weather here. These haven't been processed - I just manually adjusted the exposure because my camera tends to wash out

picture-cast

Every time I start typing I write more whiny drivel about dealing with my mom's illness.  Since this blog is not about my personal life per se, but only the creative aspects, I will instead catch up on things a bit and intersperse that text with unrelated pictures, like this one:
actually, not a bad representation of my present mood...

I did manage to post about getting ribbons and the Royal "All-American" which I am calling "Futura-istic."

It's a nice machine but I am at a loss for words when trying to use it.

I like patterns.
In other news, my IBM supplies are spoken for and packed if the recipient will just get back to me to confirm.  That cool box?  I'm trying to give it to someone who wrote to me quickly.  If she doesn't respond soon it will be up for grabs again.  I have scanned it however to enable anyone to make another box look like it.  I'll post those scans on the anablogger archives.

I carved this stamp at a Christmas party in 2009

There is a lot of talk of writing and publishing.  I'm doing it, but I can't help feeling a bit of a fraud.  I need to keep going back to strikethru's posts to remind myself it's ok to create and to put my stuff out there.  Though she specifies visual arts, where I'm more comfortable, I just substitute "writer" for "artist" and it helps.  It gets me back into my novel editing anyway.

This has gone on long enough.  Here's a pic from Florence

Ribbons the hard way

Inspired by this post, and determined to wring at least one smidgen of benefit from the training of my (soon to be) replacements in Mumbai, I asked the colleague who was making the journey if he could look for ribbons next trip.  He got the team involved and came through with 4ea red/black and 6ea black.   The best part? My colleague wouldn't let me reimburse him for the ribbons or the postage, saying I had been so much help to him explaining things to the team.  Too bad that won't fit on the C.V.

It looks like there is a virtual monopoly over there, as I ended up with the same brand as Vikram did.  I've only tried one, in the Silver Reed.  It seemed fine.
