see? Rear plate gone too.  Could someone post a pic of theirs?

  1. Peter, here's a my post on the Triumph.

I don't have a close-up of the rear plate but it's visible in one of the pics. Mine was in pretty good shape but I gave it to a friend to make room for Olivetti.

  2. Platen rolls without ratcheting? That doesn't sound right for either typewriter. Maybe the left knobs have been pulled out?

  3. Richard, mine felt the same way but it worked perfectly. Could it be that there is ratcheting but it's got a smoother feel?

  4. There's nothing missing. The back of your Perfekt is perfectly fine. These holes are probably ventilation openings - just kidding. They exist on my Triumph as well.

  6. Since my H3K's left knob works loose I did double-check these, and it just rolls more freely with it out. I would call it "friction" rather than "ratcheting" on both the Torpedo and the Triumph. I can position it and it stays, I just don't feel the line clicks.
