The first two are from a list of advice for women cyclists from the early 20th century. The last is from The Shadow radio program.

drafts of my cards, which I worked on a bit more before printing the finals

  1. Very crafty! :D
Too bad about the lost typecast. I've lost count of how many I've misplaced.

  2. Ooh, looking forward to the postcard -- thanks!

I love those buttons, they're hilarious.

  3. It is interesting how when we rip out our typewriters these days, we become a tourist attraction! I love those badges though. Very cool.

  4. Your card illustrations look like monoprints from an inked plate so I'm curious about how you get an edition of any size out of them. Good to hear Tacoma has such a thriving arts scene. Sounds more and more like the ideal American city every time I hear something new about it.

    1. They're just hand-carved rubber stamps. These two are both in carving medium made for the purpose, while I usually use erasers (not the pink ones, the white plastic ones - they don't crumble). They are mostly used for letterboxing rather than print runs.

    2. I see. I had it in my head that they were much bigger.
