my shopgoodwill auction just closed and I won with a bid of $28.

Of course, with tax and shipping it tops out over $47 but look at the close-up of the typebars. See how they are ALL CAPS?
This is an example of a radio telegraphy "mill" I've been seeking, the hunt for which got me collecting typewriters in the first place.
They were selling two of these at the same time - the other had not been painted green and went for $49+.

An excellent find! Congrats!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, if you're still looking for a Yetman, I know a seller ... let me know.
Heh, did you bid on the other Navy typewriter they have?
ReplyDeleteno, I didn't know about the other one at first and I'm glad because this went cheaper.
ReplyDeleteThat case is worth it alone. The only other USN machines I've seen have been Remington 5s in matt gray - not sure if they were all caps or u&lc.
ReplyDeleteGreat score. Fab color, too. There was just a caps only Royal 10 from 1919 that was up for grabs on eBay. Went for $56, plus $35 shipping.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! A real "mill" is difficult to find.
