  1. I've never read "Thrilling Cities". It was impossible to find at the height of my Bond book buying splurge of the '80s, but is now in reprint and due for release in Australia soon. Good to know that Fleming shows a sense of humor in it, since the Bond books lacked it.
Have you tried looking up the K1000 on mir.com?

    1. Thanks for the tip - I found that writeup, they seem to like the pair of them but not a whole lot of info. I'd like to know how old mine is, since they were made for such a long time.

  2. Camera serial numbers are a difficulty. I only know about when some of my Minoltas were built only because I have the receipts from when I bought them back in college. There are many wonderful websites, but none that I found with serial number information. Kind of like Kenwood TS- Hybrids series of ham radio gear, except one cannot open a camera and look at the I.C. date codes.

Great typeface on that Royal 10.

At least you are busy and still get time to typecast. My work projects allow little time for reading or anything else.

  4. Mmmm, Royal 10. Got my sights on one of those. I learned to take pictures on a K1000. The other half has its little brother, a lovely SP500. Lenses are excellent - at least up to Nikkor standard. Happy ITAM!

    1. I would have thought the Spotmatic was the elder brother but I've heard nothing but good about them. My second Pentax in the blurry cellphone pic is an MG. The jury is still out on that one. No manual mode. I got it cheap years ago at a camera swap meet.
